Q is for....

Quality... No, Quantity.

You guessed it. The age old debate now takes its place in bob-ij world. And about this name, I feel like people don't really get it. My name is not bob...My name is Ijeoma. 'Bob' refers to the title of my blog; Bastille of Beauty. Hence the name 'bob-ij'. Are we clear now? Good. Questions answered.

Now unto the real post. My twin and I are almost at complete odds about this Quality VS Quantity thing. What side do you think I'm on? If you guessed Quality then you are....WRONG! loool. I'm all about QUANTITY! I need many, have to have many and I obviously will not be able to afford a QUANTIFIED-QUALITY range (Yup, made up the word. No apologies there). So...the truth is, I love a mix and usually when you buy something of high-quality, you need to use it to a large extent. On the other hand, when you buy many affordable things, you can mix and match, alternate;someone say versatility! And before a witty blogger says you can find affordable HIGH-quality things, I'd like to add that I mean very HIGH-quality. For instance, I have  a million pairs of shoes; maybe not a million but 53 pairs when i counted LAST summer and a paid just a fair amount for them. I am sort of a BARGAIN HUNTER so they come wayyyy cheaper, trust me. My sister on the other hand, does not play with getting GOOD shoes. I blame it on her 'taste' level. She's into the plain and sophisticated. Give me edgy and stylish any day. Truth is, I don't compromise on the quality of some things especially if they are a constant part of my life; my prescription glasses, Sunglasses, Purse (s) (sometimes), Watch, Phone. For everything else, Please bring me a whole lot of it at a moderate quality level. I'm not talking low-quality, rip when you wear or slack when you wash. I'm referring to things for the masses; I'm IN.

So, since winter is over, I'm ready to share my dress-up secret. (Sneaky, I know). My secret is
i. Getting a locker in school so that I don;t walk around is Calty, Murky, Wet and Ugly boots! (lol
ii. I stock up on Gandpa/huge sweater from thrift stores and pair them with leggings. Bye to the stress of layering and looking bulky. Just make it a look!

Be Good Beautiful people!
Yours Truantly,
Ij

I'm with you on this one. I'd rather have 5 good quality, low priced shoes than 1 very high-end, high cost, shoe. There's no fun there, except to say, "Oh I wear Manolos." Yeah, and you wear it everyday. :)

sounds like my sister and i.

she goes for the high priced high quality while i stay humbly at my low priced good quality quantity. lol.
and the amazing thing is, she eyes my combination and longs for them. lol

#Quantity I support
Why have just one piece to prove a point, when I can have many and be comfortable and versatile like you wrote.

Lara::: I'm a fan of versatility for sure, but I wouldn't say the high quality is ALWAYS to prove a point. It might just be a person's taste, I feel.

NikkiSho::: precisely! But I find that even very high quality shoes are not necessarily made to be worn everyday. *blank stare* why not?? And thanks!

PET::: LOOOL! they are definitely correct in this regard.

WHERE ARE THE QUALITY ADVOCATES THOUGH??? COME ON!

I'm a fan of quality all the way! For clothes, my philosophy is under items, like tanks, leggings, and tights can be gotten at stores like F21 or even stitches. But when it comes to outerwear, over coats, tailored pants/jackets; I'm all about quality all the way: fave stores that don't disappoint: Banana Republic, The Gap, RW & Co...even H&M delivers quality too.

And then for shoes...it's quality most times or they won't be comfy. I got this cute heels from le chateau, fine but hurt like hell. So I've got my eye on a pair of cute peep-toes from DVF (a girl can dream) and the more affordable Urban Outfitters. For me, in the end is some statement pieces have to be good quality, if not you'll be making a mediocre statement! And you know, we don't do mediocre! ;)

I'm kind of double-edged on this post. I go for quality over quantity but not over comfort.
The thing is that most fanciful shoes are high and uncomfortable for me. So, I end up purchasing high quality flat or wedges that are pricey but comfortable

Also, I have a private question, what is your email?
